Research Activity

The Administrative Staff College of India provides consultancy to industry, business and government in general management as well as functional and sectoral areas of the management. The objectives of ASCI Consultancy is to provide professional services for improving management practices in the organizations leading to improved economic performance and long-term effectiveness.

The ASCI Consultancy Team generally comprises of faculty members representing different functional and sectoral areas of management and uses a multi-disciplinary approach to problem solving. Almost all the faculty members in the College are involved in consulting assignments so that they will get enough opportunities to experiment with new ideas and approaches in achieving economic performance and long-term effectiveness in problem-solving for the clients. This approach also provides an opportunity for the faculty to enrich their teaching inputs.

ASCI has undertaken several consultancy assignments for national and international clients. The principle objective of this service is to provide a multi-disciplinary approach in finding solutions to serious problems that plague industry, business, and government. Some of the areas in which consulting assistance has been provided by ASCI include strategic planning, organizational restructuring, human resources management and development, restructuring, health management, organization management, forest management, energy management, business process re-engineering and improving of service delivery of various Government institutions. At any point of time while the number of projects under implementation are around 50, over 1000 assignments have been carried out since 1965 till date.
