Message from Director General - Siripurapu K. Rao

The Administrative Staff College was set up over half a century ago and exemplifies an early but very successful partnership between the Government and the private sector. It started as and remains essentially a college for practicing managers and, over the last 50 years over 100,000 executives have passed through its portals to bring to the corporate sector not only their expertise but the professional inputs they have received from the College. The College also caters to Government servants, especially in the light of the growing interface between the Government, the public sector and the private corporate sector in furthering India’s economic progress, with special emphasis on good governance. While training is its main activity, the College is also engaged in consultancy and research and, some of its work in this area has helped in the formulation of national policies for particular sectors, for instance, the energy sector. The College is also engaged in conducting research and consultancy, apart from training, in the public health and education sectors.

Overall, the College with its many-faceted activities is recognized as an important national institution, committed to the furtherance of the national objectives of growth and social justice.
