ASCI-PROFESSOR HONORED WITH BEST TEACHER IN RETAIL MANAGEMENT AWARD
Dr.Anirban Sengupta, Professor (Marketing) has been honored with Best Teacher In Retail Management award at the 17th Business School Affaire & Dewang Mehta Business School Awards held at Taj Lands End, Mumbai on November 5, 2009.
The Dewang Mehta Business School Award recognizes talent and leadership amongst the Business schools across India. The Awards are supported by Ms. Shaila Mehta-Director, Onward Foundation for Dewang Mehta awards.
Dr. Sengupta holds his PhD in the area of evolution and growth of organized retail in India. He has published and presented papers on retailing at the international level and over the last five years have been invited by several business schools including IIM Kozhikode; IIM Indore; XIM Bhubaneshwar; FLAME Pune; ISB&M Pune; GITAM Vizag; DC School of Management, Trivendrum; Goa University, etc. to teach the subject Retail Management. Besides, he served as core faculty at Goa Institute of Management before joining ASCI - wherein also he has taught this subject.
Dr. Sengupta has played leadership roles across industries. Prior to retail, he spent eight years in the credit-rating industry – initially with CRISIL and then with FITCH Ratings as Vice President. And currently he holds the position of Director, Center For Healthcare Management at ASCI.
