Brief Profile

Dr.A.Amarender Reddy is currently working as Associate Professor, Centre for Public Policy, Governance and Performance. He completed his Ph.D. (Agricultural Economics) from Centre for Advanced Studies in Agricultural Economics, Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi specializing in production economics. He is the past member of Agricultural Research Service (ARS) of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India. He worked as Scientist (Agricultural Economics) with ICAR for more than five years specializing in Pulses/food grains technology, production and markets. He is having to his credit papers published in national and international journals/books like CAB International, Springer, Economic and Political Weekly and Journal of Indian School of Political Economy. 

He got a research award from South Asia Network of Economic Institutions (SANEI), Pakistan on Impact of WTO on Oilseed Growers and Processors in India: A Case Study in Anantapur District of Andhra Pradesh and also completed a major assignment for Japanees Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) on a project “Documentation of Best Practices and Impact of JBIC Assisted Irrigation Projects”. He is currently working on a Planning Commission Project on “Factor Productivity and Marketed Surplus of Major Crops in India”. He is team leader for a project on Export Potential of Khadi Institutions sponsored by Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), Mumbai. He also completed a major consultancy work for National Institute of Rural Development (NIRD), Hyderabad on a Project Impact Assessment of NIRD Training Programs as team leader.
