Dear Sir / Madam,

Sub: Training Program on "Faecal Sludge and Septage Management in Urban Areas": June 1 - 3, 2017 at ASCI, Hyderabad - Request for Participation / Nomination – Reg.

The Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), Hyderabad, is organizing a 3 day training programme on "Faecal Sludge and Septage Management in Urban Areas" during June 1st to 3rd, 2017 at Hyderabad. The objective of this programme is to enhance knowledge and skills of practitioners to plan and implement a city wide faecal sludge and septage management system leading to ODF plus urban system in India. The programme gains relevance in the context of Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM), Atal Mission for Rejuvenation & Urban Transformation (AMRUT) and Smart City schemes of Government of India. It is particularly important in the context of National Policy on Faecal Sludge and Septage Management introduced by the Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India in February, 2017.

The programme promotes an integrated approach to FSSM, which includes technology, management, planning and organization of the entire FSSM chain through an interactive blend approach of lectures, ICT based tools, videos, simulation/group exercises, panel discussions, exchange of experiences and field visits. National and International cases, sharing of good practices and recent successful developments will also be shared and analyzed.

In this context, we invite you to participate in the programme and request you to also nominate middle and senior level officers from your organization for the programme. The programme will benefit policy makers, practitioners from state and city governments, elected leaders, representatives, municipal commissioners, public health engineers, and municipal health officers from urban local bodies/water utilities, education officers and school authorities and consultants.
