Mr. Murali Mohan Thimmapuram, Assistant Professor, Urban Governance Area, CEEUGID, ASCI, has a Post Graduate degree in City Planning from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur and a Bachelors degree in Architecture from the School of Planning & Architecture, JNTU, Hyderabad. Currently Mr. Murali Mohan coordinates several partnership assignments under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) Programme for urban reforms launched by the Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India.
Prior to joining ASCI, he was a Town Planning Consultant in the DFID supported Andhra Pradesh Urban Services for the Poor project. He has also served as Lecturer in Planning & Archiecture at the Adhiyamaan Engineering College at Hosur, Tamil Nadu.
Apart from being a member of the Appraisal Team, which monitors the implementation of the JnNURM reform agenda in 21 cities spread across eight states, Mr.Timmapuram has been visiting the JnNURM cities of 18 states as a part of capacity building initiative of the Ministry titled – ‘Rapid Training Programme on Urban Governance Reforms’ to orient the municipal functionaries and elected representatives on JnNURM reforms. He has carried out the preparation of City Development Plans and strategies for various cities under JNNURM and UIDSSMT programmes of the Government of India.
He is an Associate Member of Institute of Town Planners (ITPI), India and the Council of Architecture (CoA). He has been actively involved in various Research, Training and Consultancy assignments in urban sector taken up by Urban Governance Area in the past four years.
