PROGRAMME PERSPECTIVE

While leadership is the process through which leaders influence the attitudes, behaviors, and values of others, Strategic Leadership concerns with the long-term viability, quality, and competitiveness of the organization. It is widely recognized that Strategic Leadership is essential to the competitiveness and development of an organization in the dynamically changing business environment. The imperative for executive development, then, is to cultivate strategic leadership.

Strategic Leadership can be understood from three perspectives: the perspective of the individual leader, the competitive environment, and the organization. The perspective of the individual leader views the qualities or characteristics of the individual leader. How a single leader can profoundly affect his or her organization is the central issue here. The competitive environment perspective views the external conditions such as technology, culture, government etc. that affect both individual and organizations. The organization perspective looks at the characteristics within the organization associated with long-term success. This programme is designed to collaborate and help top executives to enhance their effectiveness by deliberately attending to the individual, environmental, and organizational perspectives of strategic leadership and to the complex interactions among them.
