Job Description


The Officer - IT Operations is responsible for the operations and maintenance of IT infrastructure, applications and services deployed for ASCI at its campuses in Hyderabad and New Delhi.

ASCI’s IT environment includes campus wide networks at two campuses in Hyderabad, and on-site as well as cloud-based/SaaS model applications deployed for users. Users include faculty and other professionals, ASCI management, officers and other staff in Administrative and support departments, participants in    ASCI programmes, and full-time students.

The Officer- IT Operations reports to the Chairperson IT Committee.


 Job responsibilities: This is a specialist technical position, involving the following responsibilities:

  1. Ensuring upkeep of server and end user computer equipment; Support for Users for basic office applications;
  1. Ensuring the health and security of IT Infrastructure and applications, including campus networks, email and websites and their content;
  1. Supporting Network Operations. Ensuring that users of  on-site and cloud-based applications, receive adequate IT resources;
  1. Supporting network Management operations;
  1. Supporting Techno-administration including 
  • Technical support for planning for and acquiring IT equipment; and services;
  • Support for the procurement  and administration of IT service Contracts for maintenance of  IT equipment and infrastructure, IT security, email, Internet Communications  infrastructure, website hosting and others.
  1. Effective interfacing with Service provider’s personnel and performance monitoring.
  1. Other duties that may be assigned from Time to time.

Qualifications and experience: The position requires a person possessing BE/ B.Tech or MSc-IT or MCA degree, with 4 to  5  years of relevant experience as described above, of which  at least two years should be in a techno-managerial position similar to the advertised position. Candidate possessing valid Certifications on Networking, Microsoft Technologies and IT Security are preferred.



 The candidate should possess knowledge at the requisite levels in following areas: 

  • Thorough knowledge of the operations and upkeep of computing equipment and various components of campus networks, and Internet access infrastructure
  • Working knowledge of Business Applications Software and Office Productivity Software, e-mail, intranets, and Relational Data Base Management Systems
  • Working Knowledge of Web content management platforms.
  • Thorough knowledge of deployment of IT security systems, including their configuration, upkeep, resource management and trouble shooting for Campus Networks
  • Thorough Knowledge of IT Lifecycle Management
  • Working Knowledge of Management of IT Service Contracts and Service Level Agreements


The Candidates should have prior experience and proven skills in the following areas:

  • Configuration, upkeep, installation of software and trouble shooting of end-user computer systems and servers in Microsoft and Linux environments.
  • Configuration, upkeep, traffic and resource management and trouble shooting for Campus Networks, 
  • Configuration, upkeep, traffic and resource management and trouble shooting for Network perimeter and end endpoint security systems.
  • Use of Web Content management Systems.

In addition the candidate must possess excellent written and oral communication skills and requisite managerial skills to interface with users as well as on-site and offsite personnel of IT Service providers.


  • The selected candidate would be placed on a fixed term contract with ASCI for an initial period of three years, subject to successful completion of probation period of one year. 
  • Remuneration: The position carries an initial consolidated remuneration of Rs 4.5 lakh per annum, with suitable annual increments based on performance appraisal.

The remuneration may vary depending on the experience and competence of the candidate.
